Provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned; meet NCLB Highly Qualified Standards
  • Demonstrates competency in the core academic subject area assigned
  • Three (3)years’ experience in FCS program (preferred)
  • Demonstrates willingness to improve competency by periodically participating in some form of professional growth and to remain current with the latest developments in the profession
  • Demonstrates ability to exercise considerable and sound judgment to instruct students and manage their behavior, under the general direction of the principal
  • Demonstrates best practices in classroom instruction, including the integration of technology
  • Recognizes individual differences of all students
  • Develops and maintain an organized, engaging and student centered learning environment
  • Works collaboratively with staff and the betterment of all students. Incorporate 21st Century Learning into the classroom
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required
  • Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles
  • Provides a variety of planned learning experiences using a variety of media and methods in order to motivate students and best utilize available time for instruction
  • Identifies pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students resolve health, attitude and learning problems
  • Works with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements
  • Uses technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
  • Conducts assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities
  • Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal
  • Acts as a positive role model for students, support mission of school district
  • Establishes a system of student evaluation within the guidelines prescribed in state law or adopted by the district, continually evaluate and record various aspects of students’ progress and report to parents as needed and required
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, sit, and use fingers, tools or controls.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs.
