The Gifted and Talented Facilitator will support principals and teachers in facilitating an exceptional  gifted and talented program to create a nurturing, exciting, and challenging environment for talented youth.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Arkansas teaching license with required endorsements and highly qualified content knowledge
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience (preferred)
  3. Bachelor’s degree in education required 
  4. Expertise in curriculum development and good organizational skills
  5. Demonstrates exceptional skills in working with students, staff and parents
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Ability to disaggregate data from multiple assessment formats
  8. Advanced skill in supporting students and staff with diverse needs at various levels
  9. Ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  10. Effective listener with the ability adapt and be flexible
  11. Team player with the ability to meet the diverse needs of the school community

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Communicates accurate and up-to-date information to students in a way that enhances student learning, and includes demonstrating effective skills 
  2. Creates a positive atmosphere and arranges the physical environment for optimum learning
  3. Demonstrates concern for students’ well being and positive esteem
  4. Prepares for instruction and shows written evidence of preparation
  5. Maintains accurate and complete records as required by the school district, and reports progress or lack thereof to parents in a timely manner
  6. Attends and participates in related meetings, trainings and professional development
  7. Uses appropriate techniques, strategies, and materials to achieve the desired instructional goal
  8. Adapts the curriculum to meet the needs of individual students
  9. Uses current technology for instruction and management purposes
  10. Uses diagnostic data to improve instructional programs
  11. Available to parents, students, administration, and peers, if needed
  12. Develops and uses community and professional resources 
  13. Understands and participates in the development, use, and implementation of individualized education plans, including making necessary modifications. 
  14. Consults with instructional staff to achieve optimal learning experiences for Gifted/Talented students in the regular education classroom and provide academic monitoring to these students. 
  15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee
